The negative stars are for the employees. I love bringing my pet to Petco and have for about 8 years now. I've extended my pet parenting to aquatic life and a cat (that I need to purchase items for). This location is usually well stocked and organized. I like the fact that it's not a "super store" because those give me anxieties. So again the negative points...
The employees!! Only about 1/2 of them are properly trained and most are not friendly -- just there. The sale signs are 90% wrong (i.e. they keep sale signs up that are expired -- sometimes by weeks!). The registers are old (not the employees fault) so they don't automatically ring up proper discounts; you always have to be sure you receive sales prices. Not to mention sometimes it's hard to find an employee and 80% of the time, I feel as though I've bothered them.
The managers are friendly enough but I need to get the names because only about 5 employees total are worth a check from payroll.
The grooming department is always nice and friendly. Not to mention, they always find a way to fit my dog in for nail trim without appointments that I'm very appreciative for.
