As a frequent visitor for the past four years, this place has progressively improved. However, there are several things that must be immediately fixed in order for my star rating to increase.
First: remove the loud, annoying, meaningless Jenga blocks from the front lobby. People come here to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and hearing the crashing of wooden blocks doesn't help. We don't whose ingenious idea this was but if you want guests to enjoy their home away home, remove the blocks immediately (the chess and checker tables are perfect). I'm quite sure the employees working in the lobby are sick and tired of hearing this noise and I feel badly for them.
Secondly: hire or train someone working in the restaurant to seat guests. We waited ten minutes before being approached by someone. I understand that it's probably not in the budget to hire to a host/hostess but by doing so, will increase the dining experience for your guests.
We love The Resort at Mt. Charleston. The get away ambience, fresh air, and quiet atmosphere are the reasons why this place is our first preference for a staycation. Employees like Loren and Tammy make it a better place for us as well as the maids that make our room and the cooks that prepare our food. Please see to it that whoever reads this review, corporate does something about these two easy fixes.
