| - This is the second time I have brought my dogs to Camp Bow Wow for 3 nights/4 days of care. The first time, they seemed to enjoy there time, ate all there food and all items were returned to me. I love the fact that I can watch them play on the live web cams...
This review however is for our second stay.. I dropped them off at 6:30 am as I had a flight to catch. There was a worker that offered to help me with the dogs and items I had, which was great.. however she whisked my dogs off before I got into the office and I never got to say goodbye to them. They were gone.
I chatted with the front desk staff briefly as she grabbed my bag of food and there bed and 2 toys and put them under her desk.. I re-iterated there feeding and had directions on the dry food. 2x a day, both dogs.. 1/4 dry food and 1/8 can wet, for both dogs.. I even cut up the wet food into 8ths for them. I had measured out the dry food to have enough for 1 extra day in case my flight was delayed.
Upon pick up, the dogs were excited to leave the place, I paid as usual. The worker that brought out my dogs let me know they did not eat the first night ( I had told them they needed to be fed breakfast as well) .. which is normal adjusting to a new environment. And that they gave my one dog her meds daily.
When I got home and looked in the bag, to my shock (yes, shock) the dry food was only 1/4 gone-it should have been totally empty!! this leads me to believe my dogs did not eat at all! The wet food was not returned-even if they ate just wet food, it would have been good for 2 days, tops!
Checking my dogs meds, I think she may have bene given her meds 2 days as the med count was only 2 gone, not 4-which for dogs who need meds is NOT OK along with NOT being fed.
As I dug deeper into my bag, I noticed my dog food plastic reusable lids were not returned, nor the tupperware I had a bit of chicken in for my dogs meds.
and finally when I pulled out there blanket it was wet and both there toys were soaking wet! dripping and a puddle of water in the bottom of the bag. Almost like they hosed down the pen with the blanket and toys in it and just threw them in the bag... horrible.
When my dogs got home all they wanted to do was EAT and drank two bowls of water.. They wanted more food then usual as well.
The worst part and the reason for this public review, is I got a survey about 'How was your dogs stay'.. I filled it out with the same review as above expecting to have someone send an email back, call, something with an apology, some sort of acknowledgement- I have received nothing.. Just canned emails about getting ready for the holidays and boarding reservations.
While there are GREAT reviews on YELP! and other sites for Camp Bow WoW and my first experience being great, I am very skeptical about bringing them back for another visit. They do have a new location closer to my home that I might give a chance, but the fact that my dogs seemed to not be fed, only half the meds given and no response to my survey they sent out about my experience, I am hesitant to recommend Camp Bow Wow to my friends any longer.
