  • I am very disappointed with Central. My mother, Karen Kloppenborg, was a part of Central since around 1985 when she moved to Vegas. She had her wedding at the original Mohave location. She always gave tidings to Central as long as she was able to. She was a dedicated Central member; always at service unless she was in the hospital; she loved bible study and hearing the lords word. Karen has battled cancer on and off since 1987 and Central was there for her during her first fight with cancer. However, Central is now just too big to service all of its member the way it once did. Central is now a church that is great at being both connected and unconnected at the same time. Don't get me wrong, they have done wonders with those behind bars and they have a great recovery program, but I feel as if they have missed a whole other area of what a church is supposed to do. Where was Central these past 5 years when my mother was killing herself to make sure all of her bills were paid? She went to work the night of her mastectomy because she was struggling so bad financially. Where was Central when she was in the hospital on multiple different occasions? Where was Central the past 6 months of her life when she couldn't always make it to service? Today is very likely the day she will die. Her faith in God has never faltered, and neither has her loyalty to Central. However, as her daughter and caregiver, my faith in Central is gone. This church doesn't know how to give the personal touch to those in need. Most other congregation would've checked in with their missing members to see how they were doing. Not Central. Pretty much the only time Central was involved was when Karen was physically present at Church. Shame on Central. Karen needed Central more than ever in the past few months that we were unable to attend. Did anyone call or stop by to see how she was doing? Not at all. After her first seizure, yes, a Pastor did stop by, once. Mom felt so blessed. As her memory failed, she thought every day was a church day. I am my mothers daughter and I am not one to ask for help. In the instance of my dying mother, I should never have to ask for a staff member from her church to check on her periodically. I am just so sad and disappointed in how my mother has been neglected by her spiritual counsel. I do not say this for her benefit, but for the future members of your congregation, please show them the compassion that a Church is expected to give to its most loyal and faithful members.  Sincerely,  Sarah Kloppenborg (P.s. I do not need to be contacted regarding this matter.)
