I popped into one of my favourite cafés the other day and noticed the few changes Louie made since my last visit.
For starters, there's more seating thanks to the patio. While it may feel cramped inside the café, it's much more comfortable to sit outside and sip your iced coffee, underneath the umbrellas. The busy traffic activity at the corner of Oakwood Avenue and Davenport Street will keep you entertained.
The food menu is gone only baked goods like brownies are sold. But Louie's added more beverages like milk shakes, root beer floats and smoothies (all $4.00). If you're a fan of Jones soda, he sells that too.
On Saturday afternoons, local bands (of the rockabilly genre, mostly) entertain the patio crowd from noon to 4pm. It's definitely a nice way to spend the afternoon and see a free show (but make sure to set aside some change when the hat is passed along)
Every third Sunday, some of the hard-knocking ladies of the Toronto Roller Derby League organize a bake sale and all (or most, I'm not sure) of the proceeds go towards their team.
