| - This was my second time coming here, very popular then and very popular still. Which was the reason I wanted to come here in the first place. My routine when first trying a restaurant for the first time is, reading the reviews and then looking at the pictures, keeping in mind the most popular dishes. Yes, I do judge a book by its cover...
First time, I tried the adobo fried rice omelette. I couldn't even finish it, it was too salty for my liking. With 6 people in our household, someone's gotta finish it somehow right? Wrong.... Could it be that we're Filipinos and we were spoiled by our grandmother's adobo? Maybe...
Second visit, it's the closest brunch place from my son's high school. I still had it bookmarked since I believe in second chances. So I'm on yelp and decided on what I was going to order before I start picking up my boys from school.
Red Velvet Full Stack- It's good! It's fluffy and it's true that it's breakfast and dessert at the same time. I, don't have a sweet tooth and if I like something that is anything desserty then you know it's not too sweet. The hubby tried it and so did the boys but by then end of the day, I was the one that finished these pancakes. I hate myself and so do my pants!
Country Fried Steak & Eggs- Back to me, I'm not a morning person but I do LOVE breakfast. And I LOVE country fried steak. If you take me anywhere for breakfast, you can bet I'm gonna order country fried steak. Ask my husband, my boys, friends, ask anyone. I will not be coming here for my country fried steak. The gravy wasn't as tasty and they didn't pound the meat enough,IMO.
Cora's Corned Beef Hash- My family and I love corned beef, they finished this. I didn't get to taste it due to how fast it vanished but by the looks of it, I don't feel like I missed anything.
Portuguese Sausage- I remember when I was younger, after a night out with my girlfriends, we'd go to El Dorado in Reno and order Portuguese sausage... I'd bring my family there for the Portuguese sausage. We didn't finish this either. I also opted for the garlic fried rice and wow the onions were humongous! NO!!!!! Just no.
Lastly, the regular buttermilk pancakes the boys did enjoy. I was too busy eating the red velvet pancakes I didn't get the chance to try this.
I spoke to my co-worker about my second visit at Babystacks and I'm not the only one that didn't enjoy the food there. She was also not impressed. So, I'm not the only one.
