| - I ordered the combo plate today which included rice (white or brown), a bowl of veggies, two sauces of your choice (ponzu, goma or swisher sauce), and your choice of salmon, chicken, pork or pork belly paired with their Yojie cut Angus Beef. Perfect choice because I was starving! I couldn't decide which dip I wanted though so I splurged a little and ordered half of the sukiyaki and half tonkatsu. To be honest, the tonkatsu was just okay. You can definitely taste the broth but it wasn't all that flavorful in my opinion. The sukiyaki on the other hand was sweet and tasty. If the sweetness is a little too much for you, they advice you to add a little more water just to dilute it. This will be my go to when I come back!
This place is not really group friendly. I understand the concept of it being a bar because of the individual cooker but in cases where there's a large group like I was with today, you're only able to converse with those sitting next to you. Also, it kinda keeps you from sharing food with everyone in your group which could be a good or bad thing.
Servers are helpful especially when you're a first timer.
I'm still hoping to see and take a picture with owner, Jo Koy. Hasn't happened yet but maybe if I come more often. I'm bound to run into him, right? Haha
