| - I have been going to the Red Door for many years. I actually was there the very first day that it opened. Unfortunately, the bad experiences have outweighed the good over the years. I have given them plenty of opportunities to prove me wrong, but they have yet to do that. The only reason I continue to receive services is that I have an amazing stylist, Gaston, who rises above it all. The front desk staff have been uncooperative, many times inaccessible, and often times downright rude. While receiving spa services over the years, (which are pretty pricey considering the lack of customer care) I have had clothing stolen from my locker (including my underwear...ewww). I have been approached by spa staff providing services to me offer me "private services" at a much lower cost away from the spa. Very uncomfortable to be on a table getting a massage while the Masseuse is promoting their side business. Ackward! I have also put up with toilet seats so loose they were ready to fall off the toilet, doors with broken locks and being left to find my own robe and slippers because there were no staff to be seen. Tonight's experience has been the worst by far. I have an important event tomorrow. I made an appointment with my stylist to install some hair extensions. I have done this several times in the past. Prior to my appointment, the manager (who was responsible for ordering them) said a deposit up front was required. Even though I've never been asked to pay a deposit before. I was told salon staff would contact me for payment. They never called. A few days went by and I decided to contact the manager. As usual, the phone went unanswered. But I did receive a call back. The manager explained that the deposit has always been standard but not enforced. She said this time she would "let it go", but next time I would have to pay. Lucky me... She said the extensions were ordered and should be delivered in 2-3 days. To my astonishment, my stylist contacted me and said they did indeed arrive and we were ready for install. I was thrilled that it all worked out before my event. Tonight when I arrived, Gaston looked at the stack of extensions ordered. None were my color and they could not be used. The manager was once again nowhere to be found so I asked the front desk to contact her. The front desk told me she would be giving me a call within 10-15 minutes. I tried to give the manager the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they couldn't reach her? But staff confirmed to me that they were able to reach her and discussed it in great detail with her. I guess she didn't feel a long time clients' issue is worth her time to help resolve. It is my belief she didn't want to discuss it since she was the one that placed the order in the first place. Once again, I am deeply disappointed to say the least. This spa has the potential to be a gem in the west valley. It's unfortunate they can't provide any customer service or hire (and keep) competent managers to lead the Red Door in the right direction. Gaston is fabulous. But be wary of the spa staff. The spa staff come and go so rapidly, it should be renamed The Revolving Door!
