  • I should have taken the bad reviews to heart and avoided this place entirely. unfortunately for me (not them), I really wanted to get some clothes off my hands and have grown tired of using poshmark. I came in here today with a bag containing several items with tags, all in pristine condition, as well as a few bags, one being Gucci and the others being a few less expensive boutique designer brands purchased when i lived NYC. when I walked in, I was greeted by "we'll be right with you" from a short bleached blonde older woman behind the counter who didn't so much as even make eye contact with me when saying this. immediately after she said that, a young girl tall girl greeted me very enthusiastically and began to help me with the clothes I was selling. the only reason there are two stars are solely based on my experience with this girl. she was the only one who wasn't rude or fake friendly to me. about an hour later I received a call saying my items were ready. I asked how much they were taking as I was busy and wanted to see if it was worth it to go back into the store right away. I was told they don't discuss pricing over the phone. lol, okay. I go back to the store and am met by an older black woman who asks for my name. I give it to her and she begins looking in several laundry baskets for my stuff, I said that's my bag right there because I didn't bring my stuff in a laundry basket. She says "phone number???" and I said again that's my stuff right there, as she kept blatantly ignoring me and keeps rummaging through other things and repeats, louder and rudely, "PHONE NUMBER?". not only was this woman extraordinarily rude, but then she began to appease me by pretending to be nice as if she were a robot and i was a kindergartner. i'm then met by bleach blonde woman, who has now seemed to change her tune after seeing my stuff. she tells me they can offer me $79. now, i'm very familiar with resale and the (measly) amount of money they offer you, however this was just absolutely asinine. the gucci bag, which was limited edition and while some signs of wear, was purchase by me for $695 in miami. they wanted to offer me $20 for this purse. not only was I appalled but I was insulted. I told them I didn't think I wanted to sell any of my stuff seeing as they were giving me mere peanuts for practically new items. I was then met with looks from both women like I had just light the store on fire. the blonde lady says "are you sure? we really love your stuff". i'm sure you do! and i'm sure you'd love for me to give it to you for almost nothing! I told her that I have that bag listed on poshmark for $475 and have several people interested and willing to pay that much for it. they both start telling me, in the most condescending tones, how poshmark is much different than there store. WELL NO KIDDING, i'm not an idiot. I finally told them that they could have the other things and I would be taking the gucci bag. they told me that I could take the stuff they didn't accept next door to plato's closet, who has the same owner, and try selling them there because they cater more to teen clothes.... i'm 27. did I mention said clothes were put in a garbage bag? as you can see, the experience was absolutely bizarre. I am so confused that this store advertises themselves as "high end". the place was no nicer than a good will or salvation army, not to mention there wasn't a single high end item in sight besides two fur coats, unless you consider michael kors high end. as for the women, i'm incredibly seasoned in dealing with holier than thou people after living in NYC. the problem is that these women work on mayfield road in lyndhurst at a second hand store, not Hermes. the real kicker was that the woman told me to please keep them in mind in the future and that they'll be offering housewares soon in case I had anything I wanted to sell. i would be more likely to light my stuff on fire than to bring it back here.
