| - Yes, this tour will be a long day but it is worth every single second. I was a bit apprehensive at first about taking 15 hours out of my Vegas trip to go visit the Grand Canyon, but if you've never been, you have to go see it. I would highly recommend going with Grand Adventure Tours if you can. This isn't like your typical bus tour, you get picked up in a smaller van at your hotel and if you're lucky enough to have Kevin as your guide, you're going to have an amazing time (although I'm sure all of their guides are just as good).
The itinerary was good, my girlfriend and I never felt rushed at any point. After all the guests (9 in total) were picked up, Kevin took us to a McDonald's for breakfast, and then we were off to the Hoover Dam. We made one stop about every 1.5 hours on the way there (Kingman, Seligman) and Kevin made sure to give us a rundown of what was in the area and why it was interesting. When we reached Grand Canyon National Park, he let us walk around the visitors centre and admire the views for a bit before we gathered together for a picnic lunch. After that, he took us to all these amazing view points that tour buses simply cannot get to. It was incredible. He was quick to offer help in taking the best photos, and fun to talk to the entire time.
The ride back was a bit more tiring, with a couple of pit stops for bathrooms, but we got back to our hotel at 9pm, feeling exhausted but thoroughly happy. The biggest benefit of being in a small tour group? The hotel drop offs don't take an hour. Remember, in any group, you go as fast as the slowest person. Small groups = much better.
