Below was my first experience at this restaurant I went back to give it a second try and it was much better. We again had the shrimp appetizer because it was so good the first time. We went with another couple this time and had the octopus which was very very tasty the hummus Trio which was very good as well and then the black rice dish I can't remember the name of it it was Bland it was just ok. The service was good the drink pours were great and the atmosphere was Lively.
Im torn here on this place. I'll start from the beginning. I was sitting at the bar waiting on my wife for dinner, as we always sit at the bar to eat. Its usually great people watching and better service. I started off with a guy bartender very friendly then he left his shift at 5 p.m. and then a black woman bartender took over. She was ok, not overly friendly but did a good job orher than not clearing our app plates till then end of dinner. So I start exploring the menu before my wife arrives and I see an entree North Carolina mountain trout. Now I am a trout fisherman for 10 years and there is no such species as a North Carolina mountain trout. So I asked the bartender which the bar and Kitchen almost share the same space he turns around and asks the executive chef, what is a nc mountain trout. In the executive chef very arrogantly tells him it's North Carolina mountain trout. Again that is not a species I asked if it was a rainbow or brown trout and he said it's a North Carolina mountain trout. That tells me he does not know what kind of fish he is buying. The appetizer of shrimp with the sauce was incredible my wife's beet salad with salmon was really good the eggplant side dish was Bland and just ok. I used the sauce from our appetizer was the plate was still there to pull over my trout the trout was perfectly cooked and very tasty. I don't know if I'll be back or not with so many other options in Charlotte we have to be wowed right out of the gate and we just weren't.
