This spot is close to my grandparent's condo and every time I've come to visit them we always come by Henry's to satisfy our fish and chips craving. My latest trip to Toronto was no exception. On my last night in town, my grandma and I came by and had a wee little granny-granddaughter date.
We decided to eat in since takeout fish and chips aren't as tasty. It was a weeknight and they were about an hour away from closing, but they still were a bit busy with a few tables lingering and finishing up their meals. We were quickly sat in a big booth towards the back.
They have a pretty large menu considering their main feature is fish and chips. I got myself the 1 piece cod + chips and my grandma got the feature of the day, which I can't remember now what fish it was. I also got a small clam chowder to warm me up before my meal. Our mains came out rather quickly, not surprising though since they were so close to closing. The cod was huge! I mean, it was bigger than my plate! No complaints at all, I'm just happy I didn't get the 2-piece! The fries were perfectly crispy and paired nicely with their house malt vinegar.
Our server was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. Also, bonus points to her for handing me the bill when my grandma and I were fighting on who should pay, ha!
See you next time I'm in town, Henry's!
