  • I hate to write a poor review, but I've been to better spinning studios. I REALLY wanted to like this one, as it's close to my house. 1) As it was going to be my first time at this studio, I called to ensure I could get in for a class, as well as get help setting up my bike, etc. The lady on the phone wasn't very helpful and didn't seem too warm/friendly. But, she did confirm someone would be able to help me once I arrived. 2) When I arrived, everyone at the front desk was super chatty - but not with me. They did check me in and told me to go upstairs. I needed to change, so then they directed me to the lockers w/o any assistance on how to actually lock/unlock them. No biggie, I thought, service will get better... 3) It didn't. As I was going upstairs, I was told the instructor would help me clip into my bike. Didn't happen. Just completely forgot about me I guess. I tried to make eye contact with the instructor but she was too busy chatting and getting set up on her own bike. I've taken a lot of spinning classes so did eventually get myself clipped in, but it took a hot minute. (Not sure why...perhaps their clips are different from what I'm used). 4) The bikes here seem a little rickety. I mean, I'm not the tiniest thing you've ever seen (quite the opposite), but I don't think the bike should be shaking that much when I'm doing pushups...? 5) The biggest issue: No monitors, so you don't know your RPM, speed, etc. This may not be a big deal to some, but for me, I like to see my progress (mileage), and seeing the power and RPM is helpful so I can continue to push myself. Without it, it feels like a huge part of my workout is missing. I will say the one positive was the sense of community from the crowd. People were smiling and high-fiving and in general encouraging one another. Seemed like quite a few folks knew one another. That's always nice to see. I won't be returning. There are a lot of spin studios in the area that have the full package (awesome customer service + great, sturdy bikes + monitors). My piece of advice to the owner is to make sure your staff GREET people, smile and make them feel welcome. Exercise can be super intimidating to some people. Don't make it MORE intimidating! :-) My other recommendation is to invest in monitors - it will seriously help push the workouts a step farther.
