After graduating from college, I was going through library withdrawal. The Lakewood Public Library (LPL) was the solution to my problem.
They have almost everything you would want at the LPL. They are not connected to the Cleveland system, but their collection is so impressive, that I haven't even had to think about that yet.
The building is clean and laid out very well. My favorite part of the LPL is the new books section on the first floor. Every time I walk around in that area, I find about 25 books that I want to read. Not enough time!
There are a lot of computers available for use and plenty of space to work and read. There is a large work room on the second floor that is quiet and well lit; a great place to work.
The Friend of the LPL also host a book sale in the library basement every few months. Be sure to check those out. I usually pick up a bunch of books that I will probably never get around to reading since I keep buying more every book sale. They do have a "Better Books" section which includes books in very good condition as well as some really nice old editions of books. Old books are so pretty.
The LPL is one of my favorite places to be in Lakewood, and it is practically across the street from The Root! What could be better than that?
