| - I came here a while back and everything was fine. However, I have been here a few times since and I feel the need to update my review. I stopped in the late afternoon for a drink (it was in the upper 80's, weather-wise) and it was terribly disappointing.
1. The service was...for lack of a better term, missing. The two gentlemen working out front both seemed to just not want to be there. No smiles, no welcome. The one guy was just perfunctory (minimal, half-hearted, mechanical, whatever you want to call it.). Whatever it was, it was not projecting "cool". If you want to play it cool and not give good service, your product had better knock it out of the park.
2. As a customer, instead of feeling welcome, you feel as if you are interrupting something, or as if you've caught the place unprepared.
3. Zero cold drinks. In summer. Unless you want chilled wine or champagne. Which they did not suggest to me when I asked what they had cold drinks. I got a "we don't, like, have anything cold." When I asked about purchasing water (bottled) I received a gesture to the downright tepid tap water dispenser to the side of the counter on a little cart/table. The glasses on the cart were smudgy and the water I dispensed had something floating in it.
4. Cream. It was in a small, steel pitcher on the cart next to the tepid water. This place has been open for hours. The water next to it was warm...I think you know where I'm going with this. Smh.
5. Wilted flowers at every table. I mean, "these things are starting to smell" wilted.
No macaron or pastry offered here can make up for the "Je m'en moque" attitude. It's just not that good. If this place was a person, it's likely s/he would hear "get over yourself", and often at that.
If you come here, be advised that the staff can't be bothered.
