I have eaten at Midwood many times and never wrote a review of it before. This past Friday night, I wanted to take my boyfriend to Midwood because it's his favorite place for BBQ. We had a modest wait for a table and were seated and served quickly by friendly staff. The food was excellent (save room for the banana pudding which is amazing) and the server was friendly and helpful. I really can't say anything bad about the food or the service.
The reason I decided to review it this time is because it is the LAST time I will be eating at this location. Friday night, there was no parking, at all, on the Midwood side of the street. We had to park in the lot across the street. This is where things got really dangerous.
We waited and crossed appropriately but a huge, white monstrosity of a truck decided to make a left turn and not yield to pedestrians! I was in the middle of the road and it came barreling toward me stopping INCHES from my body!!! I screamed and dropped my purse literally frozen in fear. I ran across the rest of the street as fast as I could and was barely able to enjoy my meal because of the scare crossing the street. The truck didn't even stop to see if I was okay.
If you plan to eat at this location, plan to Uber or Lyft and don't even think about crossing that damned road with or without a light. I gave this review four stars because the food was excellent but the nonexistent safe parking means I will not have the pleasure of eating here again... but I'm very thankful to be alive and unharmed. #pedestrianlivesmatter
