Went to shop with sister that had to return books from Christmas that she already had. Decided to return the duplicate books but didn't get a receipt when the gifts were given. We figured we would try anyways.
She waited to the side to be helped and was ignored even when there was no one in the checkout line. She was told that they had to give her the lowest price since there was no receipt and had to go with the promotional sale on the manga she received. Which at the time was buy 2 get one free. We would've fine with this, except the staff including the manager was rude.
We decided to shop around to get the books we wanted. When we went up to the line I had my things in hand and my sister's in hers. A couple was being helped on one register as another was open and didn't call me over. We could hear them say that we both were here for exchange, some mumbling we couldn't listen to, and then some laughter. Finally the second cashier asked if I was separate, and then rang me out. When the manager was ringing out my sister, he asked "are you returning these because you already read them?" It was super rude. One of the books was a coloring book. Yes she already read the coloring book.
We love Barnes and noble but this one makes it hard to find their service helpful. Probably will not go to this one again.
