  • Over the years this has been the store I have bought all my jewelry. I bought a gold yellow pendent/necklace here but my wife chose not to wear it for two years because all her gold was white. This of course was the incentive to buy more yellow gold items which I also purchased from this store and she would start wearing it. She only wore the necklace less than 30 times and it broke. My wife is extremely careful when it comes to handling fragile jewelry and has never had anything break like this. She was just standing and the whole thing broke apart. Not a problem I thought. I'll ask them to repair it the next time I'm in to make a purchase. Upon inspection the sales person said she thought it could be a defect and took it back for a repair person to look at. I made it clear I was there to buy another gift for my wife. The salesperson came back and told me they could solder it for $50 but also suggested getting it soldered in another spot because it was looking weak. So instead of $50...it was $100. I was not expecting it to be done for free and was O.K with $50 but $100 for a small repair? I was amazed, given I have been going to this store multiple times each year for the past 10 or so years. I never shopped elsewhere. Their prices aren't great but the store is convenient. I walked out with the old necklace and decided I was not going to buy anything else there. I got in the car and headed over to Shane Co at Acoma and Scottsdale Rd. Not only did I buy one item I bought two. Moreover, they include a lifetime warranty. I just don't understand why a business would not compromise on a small repair with a customer who has been going to them for many years. I won't be back on principle; you just lost a lifelong customer who will be spending $1000's on jewelry elsewhere. I hope you think it's worth it over a silly $50 repair bill. It's not the money....it's the principle of how you treated a loyal customer. Update, after contacting corporate via email, the manager called me and asked me to bring in the necklace. They are now going to repair it and they did not charge me. It's a pity it needlessly got to that point however, at least they are doing the right thing. I have revised my rating from 1 to 4
