  • The House sits on a quiet tucked away lot in Old Town. I know; Not what you would typically expect , but it's delightful and romantic in its beauty from the street. It's quiet so you don't know Old Town is bustling right there! Walking in thru The House, the rustic, yet fancy appeal is perfect for this fall evening and on to the patio we are guided with its white umbrellas and flickering small, white lights amongst woven vine'd fencing; this is exactly the setting I wanted for a night to celebrate my husband. We were greeted with waters immediately and my purse was given a small nappie for my purse. Nice touch. We started with aperitifs : mine was the usual sparkling rose ; I am immediately impressed that the waitress suggested my daughter try a Housemade Lavender Lemonade , it was tasty and refreshing with a hint of lavender. My husband started with a Smoked Manhattan: Makers Mark; Carpano Antica; Cherry Cola Redux; Smoked Alder; & Black Walnut Bitters. Tasty! But strong! This is when the 'amuse bouche' of small cheese courgettes arrived. These small biscuity puffs are full of flavor and honestly , could fill you up! We love foie gras. Here in Arizona we find the rich, french, tasty, good stuff hard to find! Here at The House, it's exceptional and excellent! Ours had a fruity relish that I can't quite recall, with toasted bread points and again.. ALL kinds of yum! On to our entrees: My daughter and I both ordered the Creekstone Filet, which is housed upon Shishito Peppers; Roasted Corn ( although I can not have , and they had no issues removing ) and a Sherry Onion Demi. It came with amazing mashers too and this filet was all kinds of filling and perfectly flavored & prepared. My husband had the Baja Grouper; a ample serving of amazing white fish also cooked to perfection over Hedgehog Mushroom; Zucchini; Chorizo; a really unique Black Rice and Saffron Cream. We also all shared the Simple Salad; The Mac & Cheese ; and the Dungeness Crab Fried Rice. Rich! But worth a sampling! Needless to say, we came home, AS always with a ton of leftovers and our tastebuds happy! My daughter had to try Emily's Donuts which are served as 3 with 3 different sauces: Chocolate; Caramel and Apple were tonight's sauce. My husband was treated to a Chocolate Nut Torte. The House is a beautiful, swanky place that is perfect for date night; family night or even girls night ( there was a bachelorette party getting started here the night we dined! Fun! ) The wine list ; beer and mixology list is all on point and impressive. Even the bathrooms to the side of The House are worth a step in to ... they are some of the fanciest I've seen. Service was grand and we left happy and can't wait to try The Mission next and come back again.. my family simply hasn't stopped talking about The House a month later!
