  • My husband was contacted by Career Solutions and asked to come in for an interview. Before he agreed, he asked them point-blank if there was a charge to him for their services. They assured him there was not - that all fees were paid by the hiring company. He went in for his first interview earlier this week. He filled out various questionnaires, a personality profile, etc. They even e-mailed a questionnaire for me to complete. The next step was for both of us to come in together for an interview. I didn't think too much of it since at the executive level, spouses and family situations are often considerations in employment, even if they're not supposed to be. After listening to about 20 minutes of an obvious sales pitch, the matter of payment reared its ugly head. In short, they wanted $5000 upfront for their services, plus an additional $300 administrative fee if my husband found a job on his own. When we interjected that my husband had been told all fees were paid by the hiring company, the sales rep got very defensive. I don't know if this company's services are worth $5000 or not, but if you set up an interview with them, just be aware of how they really get their money. They blatantly lied to my husband.
