| - My family's stay at Homeward Bound was nauseating at best. The first year was actually pretty great, staff was friendly and helpful- yes helpful, as in actually wanting us to be happy as well as get back on our feet. They would give us donations when needed and other resources. But soon, after being put into new management, things quickly went down hill. Everyone was fired, new security, new case workers, new office people; these ones weren't as nice. Then they changed it from a domestic violence and homeless WOMEN'S shelter to a homeless men and women's shelter. Us- as just leaving a violent situations had trouble without, especially my 3 year old brother and 5 year old sister (at the time). They had no desire to hear about our worries. My younger brother has autism so he has a respite worker, every single time she would come they would never let her in. They would let children play loudly outside until dawn despite the "curfew" being 9 o'clock. They just didn't seem to care at all anymore. Anything that was ever donated to us was put in their SALES. Yes, stuff that was given to them for our need was SOLD. Homeward Bound is a disgusting jail of a "rehabilitation center", please do not give to this horrible cause.
