| - SOOOOOOO Basically I love this place and enjoy coming for not only the fantastic drinks and eats, but the atmosphere, art/soul & general vibe of the joint... not to mention they serve some of the best eats late night in this entire CITAYYYY! Okay enough about how much I actually love this place bc this is ::dun dun dunnnnnhhhh...:: is a negative post bc i had an absolutely terrible **** of a server. I made him wait (my relatively blind date) and we made our server follow us as we moved down 3 whole tables to the corner table to have a little privacy earlier this evening... we must have asked far too much of her. I KNOOOOOOOOW that everyone has a bad day every once in a while and I say this with the deepest concern bc I too have been a server for many years... almost a decade to be exact (although I don't look it) NONE THEE LESS... I don't know her name... this relatively wretched looking, worn down, mousey brunette server with her muffin-top and complete disregard for her looks in general, not matching, no makeup, hair w obviously no effort and potentially unkempt for quite sometime with the rest of her looks... had less then charm, patience, concern or general care of us (i was on a FIRST date mind you) as patrons. I am being potentially bias and a touch harsh do to upset but honestly she was quite the sight for sore eyes in the joint and I wouldn't give her a gold star for server of the month, I expected more bc everything is normally perfection. The general purpose of the story IS that she was a mediocre and not so visually or otherwise satisfying server...NOT saying she deserved or should have gotten a 10% tip... but she did. In my defense I was on a FIRST DATE!!! We left not keeping her tooo late, I mean the dance music was still bumping and we went to Thomas Street to have a night cap (we did see her there after her shift I'm presuming) then on the walk back to my car as we cross-walked in front of our server in whatever POS she is still struggling to pay off and she yells from her window "THANKS FOR THE 10% TIP" then peals off and hauls ass. Before her rude display of disdain from an unsavory tip (honey it happens to the best of us) I hadn't a clue... my date was embarrassed (which he should have been, 10% is never acceptable but NOT that she deserved much more...she wasn't an impeccable server by ANY means) I was without words and it was just a sh!t end to an otherwise decent evening. All I'm saying is loud mouth b!tches that don't know when it is appropriate to say something and when it isn't is the ONLY problem if any bc SOUL is an amazing place and the completely uncouth lady (i say that lightly) that served my table didn't deserve the tip she got. I understand a bad night but we weren't even a rude table and sometimes instead of acting like an a-hole you just gotta chock it up to the game, I say it only from experience... cut the fat from the sassy server staff and I would have NO complaint. BASICALLY I wanted to say B!TCH bc I didn't get to before she sped off. Get a filter... Serving is an acting job and you diffidently didn't look or act the part... step it up or find a new profession bc you suck.
