| - I got a studio suite and was incredibly satisfied with my experience here. In the studio suite, there was one king bed with one queen pullout sofa (extremely comfortable). This could easily fit 4 people + guests because the room itself was very spacious. It had its own small kitchen, with an empty fridge (bring your own beer/liquor and bring back leftovers!). The staff was incredibly accommodating to any questions and concerns we had about the room, including letting us check out late with no extra charge because our flight was going to be later on.
You can think of Palms as two separate buildings. They both have pools, but the pool in the main building is so much nicer, and have celebrities perform there. There's a gym, which is nice to work off all the partying. The walk from where I stayed to the main building with the casino/pool/gym was about 5-7 minutes, which isn't terrible, but when you factor in the elevator ride, going back and forth in the same night when you forget something or want to go down for a little bit is a pain. Unlike my hometown of NYC, smoking is perfectly find indoors, including at the Casino. Oh, and there is free parking!
We got all these free vouchers for drinks, which was cool. I feel like we kept getting more and more. Bartenders had no problem honoring them except at Ghostbar (you can read my review of the place, it's all hype). There are lots of bars/lounges dispersed throughout the two main buildings. The only bad thing was that this was away from the Strip. It would've been a good 15-20 min walk, which is not doable if you're going to the strip in heels or with a big group. So a cab was mandatory, so you have to calculate that into potential costs for your trip. Also, Vegas cabs charge extra if you use credit cards, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.
All in all, Palms is a beautiful place. It is clean, and I would gladly stay here as a first choice if I cannot find a place closer to the strip.
