  • I should have listened to my inner voice. I did not. Last year, before vacation, I made a purchase of a FANTASTIC camera (Panasonic Lumix GH4 and lens) and I do not regret having that camera. What I DO regret is buying it at Best Buy. I should have listened to my conscience. I did not. To be fair, my real issue isn't Best Buy - its Geek Squad. I bought the Geek Squad Warranty. Never again. I did not use it til two weeks ago, and I'm regretting that I purchased the camera here and went with the warranty. The process is painful. VERY painful. I took the camera to Best Buy. Of course they don't fix the camera onsite. Of course they have to ship it somewhere else. Of course its two day shipping (NO IT ISN'T). Shipped out on 7/12/17, doesn't even get to the facility (where ever THAT is) until a week later. Received there 7/19/17. No word on repairs via the link they send me, just that it has been received. I call the 800# today, 7/24/17 to get a status, since the link they send for me to check status hasn't changed since the 19th. First, the automated message tells me there is a 20 minute wait to talk to a real person. Do I want a call back? Sure. Get the call back, and it still takes over 2 minutes to talk to a real human, Diana. She is checking things, and states that I may have to call the store directly. She looks through her notes, says the camera is in Connecticut for repairs. Ten minutes into the call, asked me to hold, she will call the store to find out more. TWENTY SEVEN minutes into the call (17 minutes of holding), someone from the Chandler store picks up and asks me if I've been helped. Really? Where's Diana??? I told her I needed to talk to someone regarding my camera repair. She puts me on (you guessed it) HOLD, and at 33 minutes I talk to Colin at Geek Squad at the Chandler store. He checks and sees that my camera is repaired now (their info was updated just an hour and a half ago). He tells me that there will be a two day turnaround on the camera, so I should get it Wednesday. My suggestion? Don't EVER buy a camera or anything that needs to be shipped out. Horrible service. I should have listened to my gut.
