  • I'll start by saying that my hair can be very challenging for stylists. Going to a new place is not something I take lightly! I decided to try Classic Hair and Makeup after my usual stylist got a little too comfortable and started slipping in quality. I chose this place based photos of their work and the many positive reviews I found----and it does not disappoint! Mary delivered a cut and color that I just loved! She was very attentive when I told her what I wanted (an ombre into a silvery-grey color), as well as when I stressed that I tend to gravitate towards bolder looks. Many stylists still play it safe after I tell them that, but Mary had the guts to give me exactly what I wanted, and even explained what she was doing and why as she went along. I was also impressed with the cut itself. As I mentioned, my hair is not easy to cut... It's oddly deceptive, as it's fine hair yet very thick. Mary's attention to detail was impeccable, down to asking me to uncross my legs so that she could cut my ends perfectly straight. She listened when I said I liked really choppy layers, and gave me exactly what I wanted. Lastly, she had the foresight to cut my layers in a way that would avoid the "mushroom" shape as it grows. I highly recommend this place to anyone. I had a fantastic experience with Mary, and everyone I saw who came and went the other stylists also left looking good. I would definitely recommend Mary specifically for anyone who wants something edgy, bold, or nontraditional due to her attention to detail and her excitement to do the "fun" stuff, but I think the entire staff here is top-notch. P.S. As of February 2016, tips could not be added onto cards in their system. Bring some extra cash!
