  • Good to know its not just me. It always amazes me how many employees are just mulling about at this store, none of which will lift a hand to provide any service. Kudos to the guy at the security podium for saying hello but that's where the love fest ends. My first purchase here was an MP3 player which I returned since the Associate who helped me pick it out volunteered information that wasn't even close to accurate. My next purchase an entertainment center which I needed to be "smart" since I don't have a "smart" tv. This time it cost me $800 to realize that once again the associate sold me a bill of goods that wasn't close to accurate. Luckily for me, he owned up to his sale and after 2 more trips and some help from a manager I was actually given a plug-in faub which essentially upgraded the system to be "smart". Not exactly what I wanted but it was a fix. My last trip was using their website and purchasing a desktop. My goal was to upgrade the system with compatible ram, a monitor, external drive and a printer. As I stood in line to take delivery of my system the clerk there was on the phone. There was literally no one else in the pick up line yet 10 minutes ticked by with this clerk still on the phone. I was amazed at just how many other employees either passed me by or were engaged in conversations with each other while I waited and waited on this ONE guy. Eventually I got the attention of the pick up clerk and with him still on the phone, he motioned for my receipt. He literally waved his fingers in the air like a mime. I handed him my printed receipt, he got my computer, and dropped it on the counter. Still on the phone he handed me a paper to sign and without missing a beat waved a hand at me as if to say thank you for coming. Not the best start to my experience, but hey, I still need a few extra items. As I make my way further into the store I run into an employee, and I ask her who I should talk to about buying some upgrades. She points to the guy on the phone at the counter I just left. Umm yeah, I have no clue how to mime "printer". Its time to cut my losses. I head right to the returns desk. A few minutes later I am on my way to Frys a few exits away where I should have started. Now I know better. I literally have to pass this Best Buy every time I head over to Frys and I can't help but wonder if they may be better now. Should I try just one more time. Nah. Thankfully not all Best Buys are alike, unfortunately the Maryland location which has always been kind to me is now too far.
