| - After moving from abroad, we needed everything to furnish our (future) house in Vegas.
We went to Walkers (NEVER again, salespeople were like vultures), all the stores on MLK, all the stores around Oakey/Rainbow (no, Coleen's in NOT my style at all), Boho (amazing stuff, but out of price for us). Then we ended up at Ashley's.
"Doc" welcomed us with humor and a very professional and friendly attitude. He did not follow us all around in the store : no stress, no pressure. He came back to us at the exact right moment we needed him for questions.
We found there exactly what we were looking for. Better quality than the previous models we were considering from other stores, for way much cheaper! The products were beyond our expectations, and the store is filled with light and space. The showroom is very inspiring.
So we bought everything we needed there!
Payment process was a little laborious due to a new billing system (1 hour to complete the transaction, a grumpy lady at the desk who wasn't even looking at "Doc" when he was asking her questions/some help, and another very nice helpful girl who finally found out what to do to complete the sale and print the receipts).
As we were living in a furnished apartment at the time of purchase, we didn't have yet the address of the house we were moving into (3 months later) for delivery. Doc gave me the phone number I had to call to give the delivery department our new address when we'll found our house.
But we finally were ready to move in before the original given date.
After signing the lease of our new home, I called Ashley's. The lines were always busy, I spent 20 minutes waiting, then they hung up on me. I called again, waited 15 minutes before being able to talk to a (confused) lady. She said she changed the delivery address and date, but told me they'll call me back in 24 hours to verify all the infos, that the system is taking 24 hours to "save" the new data.
The day after, no phone call. So I called myself (10 minutes waiting time), explaining the situation to another (this time, not confused at all) lady. None of the changes made previously were in the system. So we went through this again. As I asked for the delivery being made 5 weeks before the original date, she said she had to cancel the order, then re-enter a new order for me. Not sure how their system is working, but it's effin complicated for no reason! The soonest date appeared to be 3 weeks AFTER our moving in date (32 days after the address change call). Even if I purchased my furniture 2 months and a half ago...
I'm still trying to figure out how come a huge business like Ashley seems to be so chaotic when it comes to transactions, delivery, customer's service, orders management and logistics.
So we spent 3 weeks sleeping on a futon mattress, doing picnics in the kitchen... and cursing. Why the Hell is this impossible to have the stuff I bought 45 days ago when I need it?
The day before the delivery, I missed Ashely's phone call (at 8 am. I was sleeping). The message they left was asking to call them back to confirm the delivery : 10 minutes waiting time, then my call was transferred to an answering machine. They also sent me an email to confirm the delivery.
The delivery guys came on that very anticipated day (i was given a time between 7 am and noon. I'm a night worker. Of course, they showed up at 7 to f**k up my short night). Very polite and clean (beside the foam and dust from the dining set boxes all over the kitchen, but no wall scratching, no carpet stains. Thanks!), the furniture was A1, no damages at all (and I had 3 days to inspect it), and they assembled it in 30 minutes, max.
Conclusion :
The shopping experience at the showroom was great. The furniture is the best value for money and we really love it. Doc is a GREAT salesman.
If it wasn't of these, I'd give a 2 stars.
