| - I heard about Daddy O Doughnuts via social media when my hubby showed me a photo that someone had posted. I got onto Yelp to check out some more photos and also checked out their website for location & pricing. I didn't care much for reading their reviews. Everyone has their idea of what a good donut, cake or cupcake tastes like & what they look for. I didn't want to get my hopes or expectations up (i love donuts!). I wanted to visually see what was offered and if i wanted to try them out. It was easy to find using maps on the cell. My hubby stopped by on his way home from work. That turned out to be a big mistake as they only had 3-4 varieties left 1 hour before closing when they had 15 for the day. He picked up 2 oreo, 2 cardamom & sugar and 2 sugar glazed donuts. Not really what i was hoping to try for their flavours, but i didn't mind. I wanted to see how dense or how light their donuts were, if they were too sweet or not sweet enough and how the flavours were. We really enjoyed all 3, even with the simplest of choices that we could get the taste left me wanting more! The size of the donuts is great considering they are not cheap at $2.50 each, but totally justified in the quality of product, taste & creativity of flavours! Didn't taste processed, tastes like homemade donuts made with a lot of love, care & pride. If you want to see their daily menu items offered, connect with them on Facebook. They post photos daily of their donut & British baked good menu items that are offered. I see that some people have compared them to Krispy Kreme - i would say there is no comparison in taste, flavours, density or pricing. Not a fair comparison. i enjoy both because i like yeast & cake donuts. I took 1 star away because twice we have tried to go back and they have been sold out of donuts 2 hours and 15 minutes hours before closing. I'll need to send my hubby over earlier in the day as i've heard that they are busiest until 2-3pm.
