| - This hotel is relatively cheaper than the others on the Strip. For one, it's located at the end of the Strip, away from everything, and in a sketchy area. There was always "police activity" outside the hotel at night. You have to drive to get to all the fun places on the Strip. They were in the process of renovating all of the rooms when we arrived, and we paid an up-charge to stay in one of the renovated rooms. We were less than impressed when we saw the room, it was pretty comparable to a Marriott. The view from the room was beautiful. We were up high and could see out for miles, and we also had a really good view of the people that were skydiving. Other than this, the rest of the hotel looks dated and dark. It smelled like cigarette smoke everywhere outside our room. I could tell that this place did not have the updated ventilation system that other hotels here have to filter/mask the smoke smell. Because of this, we made a point not to spend much time in the hotel. We did eat at the buffet one night, and while the food tasted okay, a couple of us became ill by the next morning. If I had to stay in Vegas on a budget, I would choose a budget-friendly hotel off the Strip before I return to this one.
