  • The best macaroons and nougat ever! Funny, I am not a fan of macaroons. But my husband is. He has elevated his search for the perfect macaroon to an unprecedented degree of obsession and scientific research. In one sentence: trust me, he knows his macaroons! So far only a select few places in France and Montreal were worthy of his macaroon attention and Karim's has beat them all. Delicately crispy, with a chevy texture to follow and a melt in your mouth explosion of taste to finish with, Karima's macaroons are simply divine. As mentioned above, I am not a fan of macaroons but Karima's are different. They also offer macaroon baking classes where you will learn how to create these gorgeous treats yourself instructed by the master baker herself. My second discovery at this place is their delicious nougat. Not hard and crunchy like most places but chevy, soft, and flavourful instead, made in house fresh (read not always available). Served with Moroccan tea, it's a treat. Finally, if you are maxed out on sweets, try their meat or spinach potato toped phyllo pastry for a quick lunch. But be aware, this place is turning from Oakville's best kept secret to a favourite soon, so they might be out of certain items occasionally.
