We came to Serranos at about 3pm. We wanted to sit in the lounge/ bar area for happy hour. The old lady hostess asked us if we were both over 21 to which we both said yes. She looks at us like she doesn't believe us and acts like its a hassle for her to seat us in there. We each order an alcoholic beverage seeing as though we were celebrating my birthday. Our server cards us both and meticulously looks at our ID's...it's annoying but I get it. Then after we put away our ID's he comes back over to us and asks to see them again then he makes us write down our ID number and sign our name... We're 23 and 25. I work in the hospitality industry and this isn't normal! A single ID check will do just fine. Our server was polite and just trying to keep his job but when we ask to speak to the manager, Caroline (the GM) almost argues with us about the process and how it's just how things are. Caroline we understand that. But what we don't understand is why you couldn't even hear us out and talk to the company about changing their policy without having a major attitude and being so defensive. No one wants to go out for a good time then be treated like juvenile delinquents. We can spend our money else where and won't be back. Serranos, you serve mediocre Mexican food, you're no hot spot nightclub. But if you were, Caroline you should have a drink and lighten the hell up.
