For a Holiday Inn Express this was one of the best "regular" hotels I've ever stayed at. I've only stayed at a handful of upper class hotels and those were pretty nice. But when you book a chain hotel your expecting a chain hotel experience. This location is far from that.
It is inside what seems to be an older downtown Cleveland building. The lobby area is very simple with a desk set up down the hall from the elevators. The elevators are very old fashioned with gold style plated doors and wallpaper interior. It can be a tight fit for a group of 4 or more.
We had a room with two queen sized beds and the room was phenomenal. It had all wood floors and 20 foot ceilings. It had all the standard accommodations including; TV, internet, speaker dock for an apple device, complimentary breakfast, the works (no fridge). I have never been this impressed by a hotel and I would stay here again in a heart beat. We parked across the street the whole weekend and the rate was discounted to $14 for the entire stay, talk about a deal. They make you sign a waiver about keeping your "party" volume down to a minimum after 9pm. That shouldn't be a problem if you are planning on going out though.
