  • Good Cajun food in the heart of Pittsburgh Market Square. It's cool how they've tried to recreate a NOLA French quarter-like look for the exterior, and a NOLA Bourboun street-like electrifying atmosphere inside. I hadn't imagined the place would be so huge before entering, but thankfully that meant there wasn't any wait for lunch on a busy Christmas weekend. Loved the ambience and the decor inside, cool yet classy. Our waiter let us know that they were out of a couple of the menu items due to the Christmas craziness. No issues, the menu still had a number of tempting options. I stuck to classic Jambalaya, while my husband opted for the NOLA burger. Both of them were spot on. I loved the complex flavors of the jambalaya and the generous portions of meat and shrimp. So what's not to like about this place? The service. Well, I'm not sure if it was a one-off experience for us, since other Yelpers seem to be happy with the service. I understand that it was Christmas weekend, but the painfully slow service when the restaurant was half-empty is not quite acceptable. The waiter came to take our order minutes after we arrived, and when we said we needed some time to look through the menu, he went on a mini-vacation. Once he finally took our order, he went on a world-tour..our food took forever to arrive. No explanations for the delay, not even an update, our waiter seemed to really hate our table. I had to ask others for water, ketchup, etc. I could see the staff all around us very lively and sociable, and if I could interact with any of them, this could have easily turned into a much better dining experience.
