There are a few different grocery stores in the area and they all have their purpose, I find between Whole Foods, Pusateri's, The Market (Longo's) and The Bloor Street Market, I buy the bulk of my groceries at The Bloor Street Market.
I like that they carry Presidents Choice as well as some higher quality brands, like Anton's Mustard. They have a good selection of organic items that are more reasonably priced then Whole Foods. They have Rowe Farm Eggs, though I wish they had Rowe Farms bacon.
And they have a house brand organic milk, and a traditionally raised meat line. Which isn't organic but will do in a pinch.
I do occasionally have to go to Chinatown for some specialty items but for the most part, I find their produce selection decent for the city. They even had lemongrass when I made a green curry paste.
I haven't shopped the pre-made food aisles of which there are many but that's all the stores in the area... even Rabba has a large pre-made food selection.
Overall, I find I usually hit at least 3 of the 4 grocery stores when I do my weekend shop and usually the majority of the groceries come from The Bloor Street Market so I'm giving it 4 stars for the area, though I'm sure if you compare it to other grocery stores in other areas you could find better and/or cheaper.
