This place has quickly became one of my top restaurant picks in Toronto. It's not very conveniently located, but it's worth the special trip to the very end of Queen St. West. Make reservations because the queue quickly spills outside. I like it here because the chef seems to know everyone and there's a community vibe to it. You can easily see the intensity and passion for their craft in the open kitchen. The space is a bit smoky but it's a good way because it's a woodsy-spicy scent.
The menu changes with what's in season, so you can find something new to try each time. The cold soups are great and unique. The fish has always been impeccable. I like the oysters too. I wish they'd serve the fruit pavlova dessert ALL THE TIME. It's my favourite of all time. Love it!
