  • I had an unfortunate experience with Yoga Tree midtown, and agree with the other user reviews that they have poor management service here. I was a student at the time being, and having lost my credit card, my father had given me consent to use his. I had also previously used it at the studio without a problem. While I am aware of the legal aspect concerning credit card use from other family member's - we're talking about apporx. $16 here. I understood/understand some organization's do not feel comfortable taking cards in this context, and the woman at the front desk on this particular day would not take the card. This was not what I had a problem with, but it was her attitude in communicating with me that I did. I tried to explain the fact that I was in school, had lost my card, travelled a long way (in the pouring rain might I add), and previously used the same card with the studio quite a few times before. Her response was "I'm not taking your card today" while she essentially stared me down. I was appalled by her behaviour which dismissively ended our conversation, as well as her tone - which was raised and very snappy. A different approach towards her speaking with me would have resulted in a much more satisfied customer experience on my end. I asked to speak to a manager there, and she replied "I am the manager and I'm saying no." Again, extremely unprofessional and quite frankly childish behavior exhibited by this staff which made me feel talked down to. Completely turned off by the service I had received, I told the lady that I would not be returning to the studio, as I would have gladly come back with a different card another time, but if that is a manger's behavior towards their client, it is the perfect way to drive them away. Her response to me was "Okay that's fine, bye" - which once again shocked me, as I have never ever seen such poor manners and behavior from an organization. This experience was one that really stood out to me, and unfortunately, did so in a very bad way. Apart from this specific incident, I did enjoy the few yoga classes I had previously taken there, but it would not be enough to have me return unless they corrected their CRM program.
