  • I contracted with ALL MY SONS MOVING to move my elderly mother from Sun City in Indian Land SC to Pineville NC.. There was to be one stop between the locations to drop off a washer and dryer, removing the old set and setting them into a garage and replacing with a set from the Legend Oaks location. The movers were scheduled to arrive at 8AM, they arrived at 10AM Below is a summary of the issues that occurred throughout the day. 1. A china Cabinet was damaged when the first started to move it. The movers packaged the cabinet, the when attempting to move it (which was by hand), they smashed one of the glass doors. The crew leader took a photo of the damage. 2. When the truck was loaded, they went to stop one - As the crew leader was rushing to get the dryer off the truck, it was tossed off the truck onto the cement sidewalk. I witnessed this. The dryer was not attached to a hand truck. The front of the dryer came loose, was dented and is inoperable. The lead mover said that it would be OK, he had a dryer that was dropped and it worked just fine. They removed the washer from the truck (it was undamaged). They removed the existing dryer and I inspected the damaged one. Once I saw the damage, I asked them not to put that in the house. They got back in the truck and sped off to the next location. 3. At the Pineville location, they parked the truck and started to unload. I was outside the complex at my car and heard a loud noise. One mover was attempting to move the refrigerator from the truck by himself, and the entire ramp fell with the refrigerator falling full force on the street. There were no visible dents to appliance, but when installed the seal does not seem to be correct. I am also afraid of any damage that Is unseen due to the force of the drop. The lead mover took photo of the appliance. 4. As the movers put the furniture into the location, a large curio cabinet was damaged. Again a photo was taken. 5. About 4:30, they asked me to pay the bill, which I did. 6. After another 30 minutes they were finishing up. There were some items that needed to be addressed (a cabinet that was not put into place, the top of a wardrobe that was not put together, etc.). The leader was very irritated that I would not sign off on the move. I told him I wanted to speak to the office before signing any documents. They got mad and left while I was on the phone to the office. 7. About 20 minutes later I received a call from the lead mover. He left his sunglasses. I also told him he left the company ladder. He asked if he could come by and pick them up, which I of course agreed to. I carried them to the road and met him there. He started to mouth off to me about how ungrateful I was, not giving them a tip, I was a horrible person, etc. 8. While inspecting the other items moved, there are two desks with credenzas attached. They are badly scraped and damaged. There are two shelf missing from that also. Please check the truck for that missing shelf. 9. This is our fault. There was a small amount of cash left in a dresser. Upon inspection a few days later, the cash was missing. There is no way it could have fallen out. Everything in the dressers and other drawers were visibly rummaged through. There were only 12 -20 items to move. Most of the furniture and boxes were moved prior. Why should I give a tip when a minimum of 5 items were damaged, and the lead mover was beyond rude. All of this damage was avoidable if they were more careful and followed procedures when moving. The ramp should have never fallen from the truck if it was securely attached. The dryer would never have tumbled off the of truck and fallen from the bed to the street if it were securely attached to a hand truck. The glass would not have broken on the china cabinet if they did not bear hug the cabinet to move it. Now I have to deal with the insurance claim. I do not expect it to go well. I will post an updated review once the claim has been processed.
