Woohoo, liquid nitrogen ice-cream in Markham! Stumbled across this place while wondering around Langham Square. They only just opened two weeks ago! We were just walking by when we saw a little boy inside eating a piece of Cheetos and gas coming out of his mouth- that definitely lured us in! It's called Frozen Breath, if you wanted to give it a try.
The girl working there was very nice and took the time to talk to us and explain the concept of their ice-cream. It's cool that you're able to see all the steps they take to make the ice-cream in front of you. When the ice-cream is ready, the girl proceeds to pour more liquid nitrogen overtop- both a perfect photo-op and cool to see!
We tried the original chocolate flavour, and it tasted light and creamy. It was less dense than store-bought tubbed ice-cream. The chocolate flavour tasted pretty typical and wasn't anything out of the ordinary. I liked that the ice-cream was really cold, but at the same time some parts of it were really really hard (too icy?) and hard to scoop with a plastic spoon.
It was a COOL experience and fun to watch, but overall the ice-cream wasn't anything extraordinary and not worth the $5.50+tax for that small scoop. Don't think I'd be returning any time soon.
