I'm writing specifically about the Personal Beauty Adviser service offered at this Sephora. I booked this session because I had very little experience with makeup and needed some advice for a professional look for a new job. This service requires that one purchase $125 worth of makeup, but since I owned no makeup, I figured I'd spend that much anyway, so I hoped it would be a good investment. It involves a 90 minute session where you meet with a personal beauty adviser and get information and tips for makeup, skincare, etc.
Bao was excellent to work with. She answered all of my questions and paid particular attention to my needs. For example, she chose products where minimal tools would be needed for application so that I could begin to build my makeup collection without lots of brushes, sharpeners, etc. She also did not push any products on me and helped me select what would be most useful within the budget that I had. She wrote down information about each product we tried (and instructions on how to use them) so that I have a guide for doing my own makeup or purchasing products in the future.
I'm really happy with the experience I had, and I now also have a place to go and a person to talk to if I run into makeup or skincare-related questions in the future.
