Whenever we try a sushi restaurant that we are unfamiliar with, we order one Philadelphia roll, observe, look at the quality of fish in the sushi bar window. Unfortunately, what we were served after waiting for 15 minutes was pretty poor quality sushi and service. The roll has too much avocado and the fish had no taste what so ever. To make matters worse, the wasabi was old and discolored and hard in places. If you are from Madison and think this is good sushi, then you have never really had the good stuff. After one roll, we got the check and left. The local grocery store here in suburban Chicago (Marrianos) has much better sushi than Takumi.
