| - If you're planning to book this hotel, the first thing you need to know about is the insanely late check-in time of 4 pm. I have NEVER heard of a hotel with such a late and inconvenient check-in time; this is obviously done to help Embassy Suites cut costs at the sacrifice of customer comfort and service. Shame on them.
Since my workgroup arrived at this hotel prior to the 4 pm check-in time, I was forced to wait in the lobby for hours until they finally prepared a room for me. This was extremely frustrating and a huge waste of my time. Finally, they called my name to tell me my room was ready, but when I went up to the room the cleaning lady was still in there!! I had to wait outside the room with my luggage for an additional 5 minutes while she finished up, which definitely elevated my frustration level.
Once I finally got inside the room, I noticed that the safety bolt on the door was completely broken. I immediately called for maintenance, and had to wait 20 minutes for the guy to show up. After he diagnosed the issue, he left to check if he had the spare part needed to fix the lock. I waited up for him for another 30 minutes (again, waste of my time) and never heard anything back.
While prepping to go out for the night, I quickly found that the sink wasn't draining properly and was filling to the point that the water poured down the overflow chute. I went downstairs to the reception desk to report this issue as well as the incomplete job on the broken bolt. They said they would send someone to look at it while I was out, and when I returned to the room at the end of the night there was a note on my desk saying "sorry we don't have the parts to fix your safety bolt." I am not sure why it took 2 calls to the reception desk and many minutes of waiting around to obtain this result.
Through all of these issues, the staff showed minimal concern and exerted no effort to improve my experience with the hotel. They did the bare minimum required per their job description and certainly did not go out of their way to make things right for me. I would not recommend this hotel.
