Ughhh so I want to like this place- the concept really calls to me but after years of wanting to try I'm deeply disappointed that I finally did! First, what's up with ALL the salt? Our first course was the bean soup and uni. Uni essence maybe but I didn't see uni all I could taste was salt. Second course soft shell crab in a SALTY broth-no subtle taste. My brother had goat tarte- it was okay. I also had three rubber balls posing as escargot for another dish! This is NOT improvisation cooking as most seems to already been made waiting to be served at the cook's whim. Tasting menus are about portioning. We had the 5 course and I literally could not imagine the portions to be smaller. I felt like I had 5 tiny appetizers! We walked away with 240 tab for two 5 portion tastings! One more thing-- what's up with the huge amount of time between courses? It's not like our food is waiting to be cooked. If you like this concept---which is essentially a tasting menu Greer are MUCH better places. The waiter and bartender were great thank goodness!
