  • What an amazing spot! Designed as a school to prepare students down on their luck (unemployed veterans, recovered addicts, people recently laid-off, etc.) with the culinary and life skills to prepare them to enter or re-enter the workforce/food service industry... The cafe is cranking out amazing breakfast, lunch and bakery options! On my most recent visit, we were warmly greeted by Chef Ron who later brought us complementary cranberry orange muffins to munch on while we waited for our lunch. I had the warm spinach salad -- delicious and inventive with toasted kamut and almonds, roasted root vegetables and grilled chicken -- and a bowl of piping hot ham & bean soup. All for $11!! The mission of the Culinary School would be enough to get me to come back and often. Add to the warm and fuzzies you get from supporting such an awesome organization the fact that they have REALLY good and affordable food and I'm a fan for life! Good thing they're only a couple miles from my office. I feel like this is going to become a weekly stop! They also cater, organize team building outings (hands-on cooking) and have a chef's table! Super cool, right?!
