  • As soon as I heard that squeeeeeeeeak at the stop sign (and every stop sign that followed), I knew I'd be back to this Just Brakes where I was treated so well almost three years ago. The very kind, calm, and patient Bill (who has a voice not unlike Alton Brown - listen closely) took care of me and every other customer who came in with an informed, professional sincerity that is exactly what I look for in a car repair liaison. Bill and his co-workers made sure that everyone understood exactly what was happening with their vehicles and what their options were. I ended up not really needing much (just a little reglazing on the pads), so my bill was less than half of the $99 special so frequently advertised on the radio. I assume that's a good price. Being generally ignorant of these things (and thus totally bluffing when I typed "reglazing on the pads" just now, like that's some phrase I just throw around on my own), they could've conned me into the whole $99 deal if they'd wanted, but they didn't. This Just Brakes location is a misnomer now, as they offer oil changes and other services as well now. I hung around to get a few other things taken care of (fuel service, cabin air filter replacement as mine had gone mysteriously missing in some previous service elsewhere) because I felt I could trust the workmanship and the prices. Be careful not to go into Sunshine Auto Services right next door. I'm sure they're a fine business, but they're a completely different company and the smaller waiting room to the right is where you want to be for Just Brakes services. It's an odd setup. The Just Brakes website has good coupons (10-30% off), although they don't have an app yet. Bill can also sign you up to get their coupons in the mail (with promises of no other junk). Speaking of that little waiting room, here is where Just Brakes doesn't quite make the five stars for me. Kudos for spacing the chairs so that no one has to make friends unless they want to, but the waiting area is quite bare compared to other automotive service providers I've visited in recent years. I would suggest a television, possibly one with a DVD player (as my dentist and regular oil change people have), at the very least. My wait was almost an hour longer than quoted (due to them wanting to get things just right despite the rush that followed, and I appreciate that), and while I had my smartphone plus an entertaining fellow customer and Bill, not everyone may be that social or begadgeted. Overall, though, this is excellent customer service and honest workmanship, both of which I'll take over a DVD or faux living room any day.
