| - If I was basing this on the massage therapist, I'd probably give this 4-stars. He was nice. Hard of english but very polite and mindful.
Because I'm basing this on the establishment, no sir. I came here from a groupon I found and purchased July 2nd. I didn't cash in on it until two days ago... August 10th. Yet, I couldn't immediately find the groupon in my list of purchases until I hunted and hunted and found out the owner redeemed it July 4th. That was BIG no no number #1. It led to me calling and trying to explain myself and the owner was the one who answered the phone. As I was explaining the situation to him, he cut me off and said "yeah okay, okay. Just come in. It's fine." it was spoken in a very concerning "yeah I know already" tone like their shady redeeming practices were routine. That marks no no #2.
I came in for a 5:30 session that same day after work. The massage therapist I think gives what looked like a routine massage path as it had no notable emphasis placed on a target spots they asked for prior to the massage. I know there are some places that actually do that (a set routine for their therapists). It felt good anyway, so I decided not to make a big deal of it.
That's when I walked to the front. I didn't have enough cash for a tip so I asked if I can use my card for a tip. The owner approved it and took my card but charged me a dollar more than the agreed upon tip and said it was a service fee. While I understand some places have those, they either have a written sign regarding service fees, or vocally confirm them before processing. He had neither of the two courtesies (which neither of them I would have minded anyway because he deserved extra for his time).
Shady practices, lack of service etiquette on ONLY the owner's behalf, ironically, and groupon prices that do not correlate with the prices listed on their front desk. Not a fan.
