  • So how is it that I did not know about the existence of Closeout King until now? I stumbled upon them entirely by accident while driving on Highway 401 coming into Toronto (they have a huge sign you can see from the 401). I made a mental note to look up this "Closeout King" place once I arrived at my hotel. Once I found out that it was an overstock factory outlet, I had to go back that evening, haha. It's essentially a warehouse full of random stuff, mostly junk, but also some cool stuff and definitely fun to poke around. Inside it's very much like a warehouse. Kinda grungy and stuff everywhere and it's huge. It's kind of like the now defunct XS Cargo, but on steroids. They had everything from candles to clothes to raisins to golf clubs. They have furniture too. Most of their clothes seem to be from brands that sell on QVC or The Shopping Network (i.e. Joan Rivers, M by Marc Bouwer, Susan Graver, etc.). They had a really great selection of shoes with brands like Nine West, Naot, and Kenneth Cole. And get this, they had a pair of Badgley Mischka shoes for $25. They were my size too (5 1/2) but they were 5-inch stilettos and incredibly uncomfortable (and truth be told, I already have a pair of 5-inch stilettos that are incredibly uncomfortable, and my lifestyle is not one that allows me to wear such footwear on a regular basis anyway. I do love heels, but for everyday wear anything above 3 inches is impractical), so I left them there for some other fashionista to score. I love shopping and I love rummaging through junk to find gems. If you are like me in that regard, you will probably love this place. If you have no patience or hate shopping, you probably won't like this place. It's in an industrial park and there's a parking lot with free parking.
