| - My experience at Foodie Fest was a good one. I went right at Noon on Saturday because other Yelpers said 'go early to avoid lines', it seemed to work out pretty well. For me, parking was a breeze and the line to get in wasn't too long.
Having moved here from Chicago, I for one am not a fan of White Castle, so I was not at all bothered by the 4 hour wait lines. I was more humored that that many people would go to all that trouble. I debated about trying Maine Lobster but their line was pretty long as well and I was told the lobster roll wasn't worth the $18. I should have tried their Mac and Cheese..
It sure was hot! 90+ degrees out, so it was so nice to have the Yelp section to sit and relax in and hide from the sun a bit.
Below are the things I tried (between what my friend and I ordered):
Devilicious - Asparagus Grilled Cheese ($9)

Asparagus, tomatoes, grilled onions, brie and goat cheese - the absolute highlight of everything I tried!!
Tornado Potato - With Hawaiian Style Sausage ($8 I think)

Fried Potato with a sweet and spicy sausage in the middle. So tasty!
Slap Yo Mama - The Snoop Dogg Cristo ($9)

My friend ordered this one: Fried Chicken, Mac N Cheese, that's sandwich between two waffles, then dipped in batter and deep fried. Topped with maple syrup then drizzled with powdered sugar!
Fists of Fusion - Italian Nachos ($8 for small)

Homemade tortilla chips with alfredo sauce, Italian sausage, black olives, fresh grated parmesan, and pepperoncinis. I'd order this again!
Fluff Ice - The Original ($4 for small) & Chocolate Oreo something ($5 for medium)

This was my first time trying fluff ice and it definitely won't be my last! So light, so fresh and so tasty!
I really enjoyed the Dirty Tequila tasting too. I went home with home alcohol infused treats in tow from The Cookie Bar LV - Pina Colada cookies and a Twisted Krispie.
There were other foods/trucks I wanted to try but never got to, my belly could only hold so much! I know people complained about the lines, the heat and the fact that trucks ran out of food. I however say it's all in the timing, what do you expect when you show up at 8pm? I will be back next year.
