| - As a person who does not eat steak, I usually roll my eyes when someone suggests a steak place for dinner because I assume that there will be very little for me to eat on the menu. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the menu at Del Frisco's because of the number of fish dishes available. We started with the Crab Cakes (the extra star to make this resto a 5 on my list) and the meal stayed fantastic. I opted for their Ahi Tuna, which was perfectly cooked. Add to that the medley of yummy sides (the lobster mash was excellent, as were the sauteed mushrooms), and an extensive wine list, and, well, it really can't get better.... until you hit their desserts. I am generally not a dessert person (as I prefer to calorie spend on salty foods). But, when someone at the table insisted that I try a bite of their lemon cake, I was blown away!! Absolute DELICIOUSNESS. :) Fair warning: this cake is crack... once you take one bite, you will have to take many more so calorie spend (if you do) wisely.
And, last but not least, the servers. Service was spectacular. My water (or, more importantly, wine) glass was never less than full and if a deceptive side (I think it was their creamed spinach that had bacon in it) came to the table, they were quick throughout the meal to point out so that I knew to stay away.
It's pretty rare when a non-steak eater gives a steak resto 5 stars. And, judging from the reactions at our table of those that opted for red meat, it's clear that Del Frisco's really has something for everyone!
