We decided to live our best lives in Vegas and indulge in the seafood tasting menu! Costa di Mare is a 4-star Forbes Travel Guide restaurant featuring seafood flown in from Italian waters 4 times a week. This was the best meal we had in Vegas at the Wynn!
Food: so good! The tasting menu was amazing with 5 courses and 11 dishes. One my favorite dish in the antipasti di mare course was the Sicilian amberjack crudo which 2 thin slices of fish with a sauce full of basil and garlic. My friend likes the clams which was cooked in a rich yet spicy tomato sauce. The langoustine was amazing! So fresh and grilled to perfection. I thought the ink past would be awful because it reminded me of black bean pasta but it was so fresh and soft, it's flavor surprised me. The fish dish was served with a tomato relish which was so flavorful you can put it on any savory dish and was definitely my favorite sauce. I was a bit disappointed in their symphony of deserts as I was surprised that it included 4 types of donuts. The best desert they gave us was a heavenly lemon desert. The restaurant gave it to us to celebrate my friend's birthday. It was very kind of them. There was so much food that we had to take some back to our hotel room!
Service: excellent! Staff was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about seafood. They knew the details of every dish served and explained what it included and how it was prepared. The timing of the meal was well planned so we didn't wait long between courses. Our water and coffee was always full. We ordered wine at the bar and the bartender was very friendly.
Price: the meal was very expensive but worth it. We paid a little less than $600 including the tip. I'm all about value so I had to remind myself that the tasting menu was a wonderful experience so I won't complain about the price.
Location: Costa di Mare is located in the Wynn with indoor and outdoor seating. We asked for outdoor seating and sat next to the pond. The hostess said parties of 5 are seated in the cabanas so we were bummed out but our table still had a beautiful view I recommend making a reservation in advance for a table.
Overall, Costi di Mare is good if you're celebrating something special given high prices.
