| - The bakery at the Whitehall Commons store has a nice selection but they are challenged on getting the order correct. Be very careful with how you place your order. You may want to print off the picture of the item you would like to order and ensure they ATTACH THE PICTURE to your order ticket.
I ordered Brownie Bites for a larger party. I had a picture printed from the Publix website and I showed the picture to the person behind the bakery counter, who wrote up my ticket. The hand written ticket read Brownie Bites. The Brownie Bites advertised in the picture had assorted frosting and fruit toppings. It was a beautiful and very colorful display. I was very excited about my selection until I picked up the order. What I received was nothing like what I had ordered and it looked nothing like the picture I printed off the Publix web site. What I received was a tray of chocolate dipped brownies. No assorted frosting or fruit toppings. No color or variety whatsoever, as was advertised in the picture.
One of the workers explained that they have 2 different Brownie Bite menu offerings and although my ticket read Brownie Bites, the decorator made Brownie Bite Bon Bons instead.
If Publix is going to title several of their bakery items Brownie Bites, and each brownie bite menu option is different from the other, such as Brownie Bite Bon Bons or just plan Brownie Bites, they may want to consider changing the name of one of their menu options because apparently the decorator is not able to decipher between the two.
The girl at the counter was nice and told me she would refund my money but when I made it to the customer service desk, I was told I had to provide the exact card which I used to make the purchase. This was even more infuriating since I called in the order with my employers credit card. Needless to say, the entire morning was ruined. I was forced to keep this tray of bon bons, which were ugly and I was embarrassed to serve them.
I thought I would give this same Publix a second chance and needed a full size sheet cake for another event, however the bakery representative who took my call, would not take my request for a full size sheet cake unless I was able to tell her how many people I was serving! She actually argued with me!! I order full size sheet cakes on a regular basis. I don't mind answering a few questions but if I say I know what I need and would like to order a full size sheet cake, I don't expect the order taker to continue to argue with me. I politely told her I would be calling Walmart instead.
I will not be using Publix again!
